Albuquerque Police Department would like to inform you of a new initiative that is taking place. Every Neighborhood Association in the Foothills Area Command will have a designated officer. This initiative is to increase community involvement and promote a positive and trusting relationship between citizens and officers.

Crime Prevention Tip of the week

Remove ALL belonging from your vehicle, and keep your vehicle registration and insurance with you at all times. We have been seeing windows of vehicles being broken because of purses, phones and phone chargers being left in vehicles.  Along with taking out your vehicle registration and insurance, please do not leave your personal identification (birth certificates, social security cards, or driver’s licenses) in your vehicle.  Always double check that your doors are locked.
If your vehicle is broken into, please report it. You have three options when reporting an auto burglary:
1.       Call 242-COPS (2677) in the event that you have not touched anything in the vehicle, your personal information (i.e. birth certificate, SSC, or driver’s license) was stole, or you have any evidence such as camera footage.
2.      Call the Telephone Reporting Unit 505-768-2030. TRU can take the report over the phone if you have already entered your vehicle.
3.      You may also come into the substation to file a police report.
